Obedience

This spring I was working at a job I loved, with people I loved. After much prayer, I decided to obey God and quit my job. I did not see what God was doing and I didn’t understand, but what I did know was that He was in control. After many cross roads I decided to go back to school to finish the last class I would need in order to apply to the fall nursing program at my local college. At the beginning of the spring quarter I felt my heart being pulled towards doing mission work. One of my close friends went on the Gap Year with the World Race and shared much of her experience with me. And that left me with a decision to make.

Trust

If I stay home: I can apply to the nursing program, sleep in my new bed, hang out with friends and family whenever I want, and remain in somewhat constant comfort. If I leave: I step into the unknown, surrender comfort, get to experience many new adventures and deepen my relationship with my Heavenly Father. It is easy to get into a comfortable rhythm of self reliance, and this will leave me no choice my to rely on God. Spoiler alert, I choice the 11 month trip. I am trusting God and His calling on my life. I am trusting that He goes with and before me. And I am so exited for the next chapter of my story.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Pray With Me

`As I am very excited for this journey, I am also aware that with it will come many trials. Please pray for peace, wisdom, discernment, protection, boldness and courage.

Matthew 16:24-25

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”
